A vision born out of a passion for watches

Francesco Cipolla, a great horology scholar, and his wife, Maria, Grand Feu enameller master, passed on to their children, Angelica, Carmela and Bernardo the love of measuring and representing time.

Already at the age of 11 years old, Angelica and Carmela made their first approach to Grand Feu enamel having grown up with the ancient procedures and a deep understanding of the different enamel techniques. Champlevé, Plique-a-Jour, Miniature or the old Roman art of micro mosaic Filato Romano have been their passion ever since.

Bernardo, an engineer, is the visionary and creative watchmaker carrying on the family tradition of innovation.

Value - Mission - Vision

Bereve is an independent brand of Haute Horlogerie, which fosters all the values of the Swiss watchmaking art. The handcraft of the dials and the manufacturing of all the components reveal the high quality of its 100% Swiss Made timepieces.

The company has long experience in projecting and making dials with the “Grand Feu” technique (including Champlevé, Coisonné, Plique Jour, Miniature). Bereve combines different techniques, such as Micromosaic in spun enamel, with the most precious, decorative, unique stones and minerals in the world. This fifty-year-old savoir-faire enabled the company to enhance its creativity and go beyond the limits of handcrafted techniques. The manufacturing of our handcrafted dials is one of the most complex of the history of horology. The use of fire gives uniqueness and exclusivity to each component of our art timepieces. Every timepiece is numbered in a limited series. Our production aims at creating luxury goods, that’s why it benefits from the collaboration with the most prestigious Swiss manufacturing.

Bereve stands out for the craftsmanship of its timepieces. The company is committed to combine ancient techniques with state-of-the-art technologies. The Grand Feu enamel is our distinguishing element, therefore it is the focal point of our ideas and design. It takes working weeks to carry out projects and harmonize all the components of our dials. Once determined the details and colours, every single dials is finalized in many working days. It takes time, but the accomplishment is really unique and special!
In Haute Horlogerie, not many watchmakers use fired enamel. The enamel flows between 730 and 900 degrees Celsius, almost at the melting point of the two components of our dials: fine silver and 24K gold.

We use 100% SWISS MADE movements, shaped according to our needs, thanks to the partnership with important Swiss manufacturing. We also collaborate with some of the greatest Swiss Master watchmakers. We can guarantee an international assistance, thanks to the use of calibre based on Vaucher movements, which are designed, assembled and controlled in Switzerland.

Our timepieces show a cutting-edge point of view on modern horology, displaying an outstanding balance of luxury materials, handcrafted techniques and design. Bereve purposes to connect arts, science and modern horology. Every component is totally designed in-house and is made by Swiss manufacturers. The first step is a hand-made draw, then we proceed with the technical draw. The other steps include the prototyping process, the production of a pre-series, the optimisation and control of the final quality. Only timepieces which pass the high standard test of the brand are put on the market. Bereve provides its products with a three-year warranty all over the world. The company uses only alligator leather, respecting CITES requirementsBereve also carries out a customization service in order to make a unique or limited edition product. The company has provided this service for a long time. Customization consists in different steps that enables the customer to choose materials, design and artistic techniques applicable to horology. Customers could even draw their own timepieces!
